Stay by the Water
Our St. Joseph camp is located at Jean Klock Beach, one of the most beautiful, peaceful beaches around. With natural dunes, a long shoreline, and nearby trails, it’s perfect for unwinding after camp.
If you want something a little more lively, Silver Beach County Park has wide sandy space, playgrounds, and easy access to snacks — great for families who want a bit more action.
You can even explore Lake Michigan or local rivers on a rental kayak and paddleboard — available from Third Coast Paddling at Jean Klock Beach, Silver Beach, Paddler Park, and the Paw Paw River.
Cool Off at the Splash Pad
On a hot day, nothing beats the Whirlpool Compass Fountain. Kids love running through the water jets, and parents love that it’s free, easy, and right near Silver Beach. It’s a perfect quick stop after camp.
Burn Off Extra Energy
If your kids still have energy (and they usually do), Warren Dunes State Park is always a hit. Climbing the dunes, running down them, doing it all over again—it’s simple, but kids love it.
Pick Something Sweet
Another easy favorite: stop at a local U-pick farm. Southwest Michigan is known as the “Fruit Belt,” so depending on the season you can pick strawberries, blueberries, cherries, or peaches. It’s quick, hands-on, and kids love bringing home what they picked themselves.

For something a little different, stop by the Silver Beach Carousel. It’s quick, fun, and a great way to wind down the day with music, movement, and a little boardwalk magic.
